Finn

On Air Details
Weekdays from Noon-6 p.m.
I 'm your chief cook and bottle washer during the 92 minute electric lunch show...send me your e-mail requests....then I serve up long sets of your favorite classic rock the rest of the afternoon.
On the weekends, I recover from my Friday night hangovers by pulling the Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. shift.

Why am I so into this friggin' show?

Lost is now gearing up for it's 4th season.  There are a lot people who dislike this show. In fact, it is one of those shows you either love or hate.
It won't be back until February. If you like ''smart'' shows(there isn't alot of them around) you should give it a chance...It's ''The Prisoner'' for a new generation.

aaaaaargggh! the dreaded illness of cover-band-itis set in at a very early age with finn.

rounding up a few friends from junior high school, his first truly awful band was formed...and IT was called ''aries''...what a stupid name for a band. many would discover that the only song the band knew how to play was ''it's still rock and roll to me''...this was mainly because the lead guitarist liked billy joel music and also because no one else really knew how to play. through the years, there were many more truly awful bands...culminating with the hair band plague of ''aria'' (hey.what's with all the A names)...

but then, out of nowhere: something good happened. finn decided to quit playing in cover bands and help form a band that would play originals.  they were a madison-based band called TOM.  after a few years, finn realized that quitting his day-job was not a good idea...sure. he's still behind a microphone...but look at it this way...at least he's not singing!

STP To Rock The Fest
Thursday 03-06-2008 11:17am CT

Stone Temple Pilots have reunited and they are on the line-up for Rockfest 2008. In the words of Peter Griffin, ''Yeah.Sweet.Awesome.'' Looking forward to hearing all those great STP tunes like: ''Vasoline'', ''Plush'',''Wicked Garden'',''Big Bang Baby'', ''Sex Type Thing'', ''Crackerman'', ''Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart'', and ''Interstate Love Song''...just to name a few. STP put out their share of classic albums in the 90's, Core, Stone Temple Pilots, and Tiny Music...Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop. Man, I'm looking forward to seeing this band. Back in the mid 90's, I was planning to see a mini-tour the band was going to do with Cheap Trick. That tour didn't happen. So, it's going to be rewarding to finally see STP at Rockfest 2008.
My Prayer

Please Dear Lord

Let the writer's strike end.

Amen

Here's the deal. I've never been much of a reality tv fan. Even back in the day, when MTV had the first season of The Real World on a continuous loop, it was awfully hard to stomach. I get enough of real life in real life.

Now, I will admit that I did watch the first season of Survivor. Two words: Susan Hawk. You know who I'm talking about. The truck driver from Wisconsin. How could you not watch that train wreck. Now that was good tv viewing. There hasn't been anyone that's come close to Susan's entertainment value since, and for me, you can only do that show once. It is, essentially, a one-trick pony. Yes, I know many people disagree with me.

Here's what we are staring down the barrel of:  Hour upon hour of reality tv.
If you like Survivor, Big Brother, American Idol, Deal Or No Deal, Extreme Makeover, and America's Next Top Model, Then, boy, do we have a season for you.

I'm screaming now! Inside (where it counts). I can't imagine turning on the tube and only seeing a bunch of whining little narcissists that I could'nt care less about.

It doesn't look like the writer's strike will be resolved before January. If it isn't, then there will be no new television programs, apart from the likes of reality based shows, produced for 2008.
My favorite show, Lost, has eight new episodes in the can(they started shooting right before the writer's strike started). They will begin airing in February. After that eighth episode, it's anyone's guess as to when we will get anything new.

Then again, if you love reality tv....''Boy, do we have a season for you!''
Me, I'm Just A Lawnmower
Thursday 12-13-2007 9:34am CT

Back at the end of November, I noticed a lot of people, mostly middle-aged guys, mowing their lawns. Frost had already paid our lawns a visit, but there they were. Still mowing their lawns because the temperature didn't feel like November but rather, more like early September. I'm all for people taking care of their lawns, but come on....isn't there a point where you say, ''you know what, I think I'm done mowing for this year"?

Help me out here, because, honestly, I'm in the dark...what are you accomplishing? Are you mowing just because you can? There's isn't any snow, so I can't use my new snowblower...I guess I better mow.

Let it go. After the first frost has settled, I really don't think you're helping your lawn. I think you're maybe a little obsessed...and bored.

Then again, I could be wrong.
